Sam's favorite candy isn't really seen as a candy by most people, but it is a treat that he looks forward to every year. He doesn't know what goes into them, other than popcorn and caramel, so he supposes that they technically are candy. Anyway, he doesn't care, as long as he gets his annual popcorn ball.
