Solarian Insider - May 2nd Edition - May 10th update!

Greetings Solarians!

We hope you have all had an amazing Estertide! It was fantastic seeing the different decorations around town such as the butterfly bunting, painted eggs, and even the smell of wonderful baked goods filling the air. I feel ready for the warmer months to arrive now, and also have found myself with way too many baby bwaas... but hey, the more the merrier! 

Enough about me, let's see what this month has in store for us all!

May 10th Trait rarity update!

There has been a very slight change in a trait's rarity: 

• The trait Horse Tail will now be reduced from Very Rare to Rare. 
  • The Kiamaras that have the trait will be granted a Very Rare stone to cover the conversion.
  • This trait was lowered to give more options when choosing a rare tail. 

New Tos update

There have been some edits to the Terms of Service on site that go into effect today.
These terms do not change any of the current Terms of Service in place, nor add any additional rules in place, but instead, go into more detail on current Terms of Service rules in place for more clarity. For ease of reading, we have cut out what will be added to the ToS and bolded anything new we are adding.

Under Adoptables

• All Kiamaras, aside from those that were made with a Newcomer MYO potion or those with the ‘Soulbound’ buff, can be resold, traded, or gifted regardless of how they were obtained
  • If you are in a spot of financial trouble, we may make exceptions to help by allowing both Newcomer MYO kias and Soulbound characters to become sellable. If this is the case, please contact an admin or admin assistant on our Discord Server and we will help you as soon as possible. 
  • All sellable Kiamaras can be sold for however much the user wishes, regardless of the original price they were purchased for. All Kiamaras, aside from those that were made with a Newcomer MYO potion or those with the ‘Soulbound’ buff, can be resold, traded, or gifted regardless of how they were obtained.
  • Artists hold the right to curate their own job environment and thus are allowed to put additional rules in their own Terms of Service or refuse service to users at their own discretion. Whilst any characters that are the intellectual property of Kiamaras are bound by these Terms of Service on Kiamaras.com, breakage of individual Terms of Service or Codes of Conduct between users and artists could leave with the artist refusing service. We will not enforce individual Terms of Service of our artists, nor will the breakage of individual Terms of Service cause any disciplinary actions within Kiamaras.com and any affiliated services. 
    
    • The only time Artists are not allowed to refuse service or block users is if it comes under discrimination. If we notice artists abusing their ability to refuse service to the user due to discrimination, their position will be immediately terminated and they will be banned from the species.
      
      
• If you no longer want your Kiamara/Microkiamara/Dromedairy, as long as the character’s masterlist mentions it is allowed to be traded, sold, or gifted, you are allowed to do so. Regardless of how a Kiamara/Dromedairy/Microkiamara has been obtained, they can be resold for as much as you’d like.
  • Users hold the right to curate their own trading environment and thus are allowed to put additional rules on a Kiamara/Dromedairy when selling/trading/gifting them. However, whilst any characters that are the intellectual property of Kiamaras are bound by this Terms of Service on Kiamaras.com, breakage of any additional rules added by users will not be enforced by Kiamaras.com but may end up with users involved not wishing to take part in selling/trading/gifting with the offending user in the future. We will not enforce any of these rules added by another user during any transaction, nor will the breakage of these added rules cause any disciplinary actions within Kiamaras.com and any affiliated services.
    
    • If we notice that users are not allowing sales/trades/gifting of Kiamaras/Dromedairies due to reasons we find come under discrimination, they will be immediately banned from Kiamaras.com and any affiliated services.  

These are things that users and artists have always been able to do, however, due to the confusion of a few recent events we felt it necessary to update the Terms of Service to further explain the freedom both users and artists have over choosing who they wish to do business with. Of course, if you have any questions on these newly added descriptions in the Terms of Service, feel free to send in a question in the Questions and Concerns channel on our Discord Server, or to the Anonymous Questions, Concerns, and Suggestions box.

Trait changes and additions

As some of you have noticed, we have been going through and updating the traits on-site giving most of them expanded descriptions, adding images to those without them, and overall updating any that were outdated as part of our trait guide update. Whilst most of these traits haven't had much changed, we figured that there are some notable ones that will be undergoing a change that may affect your Kiamara's rarity if your Kiamara has them. Please read over the following as these changes will go into effect in 24 hours:

• Both small and large Fin traits will no longer allow fins on the tail area.
  • As part of our ongoing efforts to make sure traits are recognisable on Kiamaras and Droma, we will now no longer be allowing either the Small or Large Fin traits to be placed on the tail due to there being some overlap as to what is just a fin trait and what is an aquatic tail. As such, fins on the tail will now automatically be classed as the Aqua-Based Tail, regardless of whether the tail has a tuft or a fin at the tip. 
  • Kiamaras that currently have these fin traits only on the tail will have them changed to the 'Aqua-Based Tail' trait.
  • Kiamaras that have these fins on the tail and in other places will just have the 'Aqua-Based Tail' trait added. 
  • Fins will be now allowed to be placed anywhere on the body, face, legs, back, etc.
    
    
• Leg fins will now be merged with their appropriate Fin Size Traits. 
  • This means that if the leg fins fit inside the Small Fin box, they will be reclassed as Small Fins. If they go outside the box, your Kiamara will instead gain the Large Fin trait. 
  • If your Kiamara already has one of these traits and the Leg Fins trait, with the leg fins trait falling inside the parameters for the fin size trait already present on the 'Mara, we will instead be removing the Leg Fin trait and reimbursing the user with an appropriate trait stone to use on the Kiamara.
    
    
• Fin Traits will be limited to having 4 visible on either side of the Kiamara.
  
  
• Flopped Asymmetrical Ears will now require two references, one for each side.
  
  • This is so we are able to help trait the Kiamaras correctly. If the ears are asymmetrical, we will require both side views to be present. Ones already accepted will be grandfathered in.
    
    
• Added Trait: Colour Changing Hair
  
  • A few Kias have this trait under 'Colour-Changing Markings' and due to us not classing hair as markings, we have implemented this new trait!

Serah's Sketches - May Badge is now live:

It seems that Serah has a new task for you in the Community Hall for you to earn either a new pet and the chance of obtaining a uniquely coloured mimic! There has been a fossil found in Stonehill and, due to there not being enough funding in Manabane to identify what the fossil could be, Serah wants you to help out by using the partial fossil to make a new pet type. The entry that shows the pet type concept based that we like the most will be made into a new pet type that canonically lives in Solaria, and the version that you coloured/described in your entry will become your new custom-coloured mimic on the official pet lines! This task has been posted in the Community Hall with an end date of the 31st of May!

Just like last month, this quest is only once per account according to the poster in the Community Hall; so why not pop over there, give it a look, and see if you are up for the task?

Each Serah's Sketches quest will receive a new achievement as well on top of the reward!

Community Day Update:

We have the top three ideas chosen and the concept artwork is almost completed! We aim to get the items and poll up and running within the next few weeks, with the end date being the 31st of May, with the item becoming an implemented recipe!
