A celebration gone.. wrong?
It's early afternoon as you walk down the path towards the Hearthfire festival grounds. G'ma had asked you to tag along to the set-up of the event and deliver a few decorations with Liv, one of the Kiamara's helping to oversee the festival this year. You hold one handle on the large crate while Liv holds the other. She happily chatters away, overly excited about one of her favorite holidays here in Solaria.
"I just love the costumes and the different customs we've adopted from various rifties over the past few years. Trick or treating is so much fun and I adore the kits and calves in their little costumes. Do you have a costume yet? Oh, I know! You should dress up as-"
Liv goes quiet as a loud sound echoes from the direction you're both headed, followed by the sky flashing various shades of purples and blues before dimming.
The silence that follows is eerily calm.
Both of you are stunned for a moment before Liv turns to you. She seems less excited and a bit afraid as she breaks the silence.
"Was that.. a rift? I've never actually.. seen one happen before."
The pace quickens to arrive at the festival grounds, wanting to make sure everything is okay. When you finally arrive, you are met with the aftermath of a rift opening and closing rapidly. What was once a bustling clearing filled with various stalls of goodies, treats, and games is now mostly empty. Scattered remnants of various stalls lay around the clearing - various squashed treats, broken scraps of wood, and so much more.
However, there are a few things that stand out as odd to you in the clearing.
A single standing stall with a familiar robot standing atop it.
Two figures in the distance that seem to be arguing.
And the faint traces of magic still lingering in the air.
Liv turns to you, moving to place the crate down with a shaky sigh.
"No one was scheduled to show up yet but.. all our hard work. I'm just.. gonna sit down for a few minutes if you want to look around."
