Nova FT

Nova paced anxiously around her living room. She knew that she shouldn't be so nervous about her friend coming over, especially Aurelia of all people. Aurelia was her best friend, and would be understanding... Right? She jumped slightly as a soft knock sounded on the door. Taking a deep breath, she called out, “Come in!” and then cursed herself softly when her voice shook.

Aurelia stepped through the door, her braid swaying behind her as she whirled, shutting the door and then whisking over to Nova. She gave her a quick hug and kiss on the cheek, and Nova tried not to flinch away. She must have anyway, though, because Aurelia paused and studied her face. “What's wrong?” she asked, her whole demeanor changing in an instant. Nova squirmed uncomfortably under Aurelia’s gaze and looked anywhere but at her friend.

“Nova, Babes, you know you can tell me anything, right?” she said. drawing back slightly. Nova took another deep breath and kept her gaze focused on the ground.

“You know how you tell me I need to set boundaries?” she whispered, and Aurelia nodded. “Yes, why?” she asked, prodding. Nove looked up briefly and met Aurelia’s gaze and sighed softly. Her friend looked so concerned.

“I uhm..” she puased and Aurelia nodded in encouragment “It makes me a little uncomfortable when you do the kissy greeting thing,” Novea mumbled, wishing she could just hide her face in shame. Aurelia sighed and let out a soft half-laugh. “Oh, Nova, Sweetheart, Why didnt you say something sooner? Im so sorry, I promise I'll stop that,” she said, reaching outbefore pausing. “Are you still comfortable huggin'?” she asked, and Nova nodded before throwing herself into Aurelia’s arms and letting out a small sob.

“I thought you would hate me,” She whimpered into Aurelia’s shoulder, while absent-mindedly pulling out a soft purple feather that was stuck in Aurelia's hair. Aurelia gently patted her back. “I could never hate you, Nov’ yuour my best friend,” she said softly. “Thank you for sharing your boundaries with me,” she added, and Nova blushed slightly before showing her the feather, and Aurelia rolled her eyes. “You know im allways covered in things,” she said, and they both giggled.
