The wind was calm and the forest was silent as something approached with the loud thud of paws. A kia emerged from the trees and was running when a portal appeared out of nowhere. The kia didn't have much time to think about what it was before they got sucked up into the strange rift.
I decided to follow, curiosity got the better of me. I was transported to a strange new world, possibly realm? I've heard about the portals before from travellers, no one knows how or why they appear but they seem to target specifically kiamaras.
The kia and I landed in a forest of sorts, the trees and bushes were a Cerulean colour compared to the usual green colored leaves and brown trunks.
"Where am I?" The kia sounded confused as they rubbed their forehead. "What happened?"
I quickly hid in one of the cerulean bushes, hoping the kia wouldn't find me. I continued to watch them, someone must know where we are. However, no one was around and the poor lost kiamara started to get desperate. They walked for what seems like ages, I followed keeping a distance.
It wasn't long until the kia stopped and sat down by a tree, their head tucked into their knees, they started to silently cry before letting out some louder sobs. "I'm lost.. an.. and... I..I don't... know....wh....where I...am."
I thought about going closer to them but changed my mind. I decided to keep my distance so I backed up a bit. Crunch!
Uh oh... has my cover been blown? I could only hope the kia hadn't noticed me.
"Oh.... are you lost too?" The kia wiped their tears with their hand. "I'm lost. I was running away from my life, I wanted a fresh start but not like this. I dreamt of having a little cottage out in the country."
I just stared at them, of all my time, no one has noticed me. Ever. I hear news from the trees, hidden from sight but always up to date as I listen to the travellers who pass by my forest. I wasn't used to having any attention at all, I don't know what to do.
"I just don't know what to do. I've tried finding anyone but I can't. You're the only one I have found." Honestly, at least we both don't know what to do but that's not helpful at all. "My name is Henrietta, would you like to be my friend? Maybe we could figure out this world together." Henrietta said with such kindness in her voice.
Now, this is my time to decide, to continue a life of solitude or something different. I chose to have a friend, I walked slowly to the kia, "My name is moggie." I have no idea if they can understand me or not but I'm excited for the adventures we are going to have together.
